This trail starts north of Truckee, Ca. just outside of Independence Lake. This is an 11.5 mile out and back singletrack trail that climbs a relentless jeep road, then intersects the singletrack. The climb is about 6.5 miles, and climbs 2603 ft. The last 1/2 mile is hike a bike. It is steep and loose. Once on the top at 9143 ft. you have a spectacular view of everything around you including the back side of Castle Peak on Donner Pass, Interstate 80. The map does show a trail that connects Mt. Lo
